to do what?

remain alone in the bathtub? Probably not

sit on the front porch with a 40oz. sippy cup? Probably

babysit his little brother? Depends on time of day

to express his feelings for another boy? Absolutely

to be driven around by a realtor? Only with appropriate car seat and Barney CD

to purchase property in Chicago? definitely, as long as he is pre-approved

I would try Old Irving. Avondale covers a good, but iffy area. I know the area, so I would be able to make that choice. Maybe get help from family or friends here.

You should call the local police station and consult a variety of internet sites with the data you need to make that personal decision. Realtors cannot comment on the "safety" of a neighborhood.
