I have a water leak coming through my bathroom light. I have called my landlord and made them aware of it. How long do I wait for repair? Options?

That's a safety item. Your landlord should respond immediately. If you don't get anything from him/her within 48 hours, have it repaired and deduct it from your rent.
If you'd like a copy of the Truth in Renting Booklet for the state of NJ, email me and I'll send it out to you.

Water coming through a light fixture is serious, the stuff from which fires are made. I'd think the landlord would want it taken care of immediately. Don't turn on the light!

You may talk to land lord and find out how long it will take. If it takes longer then you thing ask the reason for delay. So you will get the idea what will be the reason able waiting.
