Paxon and Douglass Anderson were ranked in the top 20 of all public schools in the entire US of A! So just because one area of town has A schools, don't judge all of Jacksonville based on the grades of schools when there are great magnet schools offering students wonderful opportunities. Some of the surrounding counties are running low on money for schools because they are overwhelmed. Just do you homework on what ratios will be like for your children.

True, Mandarin has good schools and so does Ponte Vedra Beach.

As a parent who's grown up and lived in jacksonville all my life, I can tell you the best schools are either in Mandarin, which is a side of town, they have Crown Pointe Elementary, Loretto Elementary, Mandarin Oaks Elementary and Beauclerc Elementary, all A rated schools. Also, if you don't mind living on the out skirts of Jax, in St, Johns County, they offer the best schools hands down. Twin Lakes Elementary is also decent, my opinion it is over crowded but it's located in a very popular side of town, Southside. Good Luck!
