Finding a rental with no employment in Vegas

Asked by Ginger Cabais, 89113 Thu Jan 23, 2014

Relocating my family to las vegas due to cost of living in hawaii. If I have the money to pay $1100 rent 3 months in advance along with security deposits BUT have poor credit, will I have issues securing a rental?

Rental companies are great as there is often a reputable product, professionalism, oversight and policy. On the other hand, there is a huge benefit to dealing directly with property owners as certain guidelines can be discussed and agreed upon that may deviate from the traditional rental company policy. No current income will be an issue, but with cash in hand, it can alter things in your favor. Best advice, obtain everything in writing and always have a contract.

Your choices will be greatly reduced by having poor credit and no verifiable income here in town. You will probably have better luck getting approved if you are dealing directly with property owners.

A lot depends on what bad marks you have on your credit. Please give me a call at your earliest convenience to discuss your options. You can also visit my website at:

You'll need 3x rent to income. 1100 x 3 = 3300 x 12 = 35 to 40k in the 3 months up front. Otherwise you'll have to rent from a private party from Craigs list. Let me know, Matt
