Can I pay rent for a 6 month lease upfront?

Asked by Matt, Tempe, AZ Mon Dec 31, 2012

I am looking for a short lease (6 mo.) on a 1-2br from Feb-Jul near Tempe and I won't be employed during that timeframe. Would a landlord be more likely to sign a lease with me if I offered to pay the entire 6 months rent upfront? If so, would it be possible to get a discount by doing so?

Yes, this very attractive to a landlord and you could ask for a discount.

Most Landlords will likely ask you to fill in an application and explain your situation, before they make a decision.

Of Course you can! Sometimes they will negotiate a little on rent too!
