I’m moving to Boston and my top priority is proximity to MGH. I want to be a 10-15 minute commute. What neighborhoods meet this criteria?

Beacon Hill, West End, North End, East Cambridge, Kendall Square, part of the Back Bay and Bay Village, and part of South Boston

Since your top priority is proximity to MGH then the nearest neighborhood is the West End. It's 2-5 minutes walking distance to MGH and gives you a tucked away community feel while offering all the conveniences of city living. Second would be Beacon Hill.

Lucky for you Boston is one of the greatest walking cities, a fabulous public transportation system with a combination of trollies and busses. Get a T map and start exploring. You should go with Beacon Hill or the Kendall area of Cambridge. It's just not feasible to count on a consistent 10-15 minute commute from anywhere in the city. The closer you are the better.
