I am being evicted from apt which I later learned to be an illegal ( basement). Can I sue after I get out?

I was evicted after I complained about overflowing toilet. Huge hassle with awful landlady. Can Ii sue her when I get out? I have gone all winter without any toilet. I always paid rent on first of month, but have the enormous hassle of moving. Eviction went through as there was only month to month , no lease on paper. Landlady secretly went through my apt daily, brought friends and people in, then fabricated complaint with Health dept against me before initiating eviction. It was then I learned apt is illegal per city zoning and also that it was illegal for her to go in constantly . (No door at all from upstairs ). I had to supply my own c.o. monitor and smoke detectors, I couldn't access safely in winter ice and snow to my own outside door as no clearing was done, I have had no toilet use all this time, shower backs up too and I had to join a health club for that. Moving is really inconvenient and the price was not easily matched, as I have become unemployed.

If you have legal questions, you should speak to an attorney. He/she would be able to tell you the likelyhood of winning a case after reviewing the details.
