Rent vs Buy in Greenville>Question Details

imperiumadve…, Home Buyer in Pittsburgh, PA

Is it smart to buy property something like a condo and sell in two years if I don't plan on living in the area. I was reading buying is 35%

cheaper then renting. I wouldn't buy anything more then 50k. If I bought a condo that was already reduced in an area that the market was appreciating at 1% a year. Not sure if buying would be smart and I'm not a first time home buyer.

We work with a number of investors that buy, rent for a coupe of years with the intention of selling. I worked directly for a new home builder for a couple of years until just a month ago. We experienced over 10K in price increases in a year. This means for those that bought about a year ago, these folks have realized 10K in equity!!!
