Whose responsibility is the "alley jumper" as far as repair of electricity supply to a home?

From what I've witnessed,
the Electric Company is responsible for getting the electricity to the house. The Owner is responsible from that point on.

Joseph, Thank you for the education!!! Now that I understand, I would agree with Ron's statement; however, communities vary so I would check with your local energy company.

If your home doesn't get a power line directly from a pole it may get a short line from the neighboring house that does get a direct line.

Joseph, Okay, I love jargon...but what exactly is an "alley jumper"? Have never heard the term before.
