I've been having similar problems looking for windows in London. Can anyone help me out there?

If you're looking for very high quality windows and installation - done by master craftsman, I really like Cherry Creek Door & Window in Wallingford.

I believe Frank Lumber is the place you can take a door off its hinges, take it in to the store, and they will attach your hinges (and door knob) to a new door that will fit perfectly by just reattaching it at the hinges. Replacing an entire door isn't that much work, but if the frame is still good . . ..

Take a drive up to Frank Lumber in shoreline. It's amazing.

I've gotta agree with James here, I had champion windows installed at my house in Florida and they have worked out great!

I actually haven't had my windows replaced before, but I'm glad to know that there are so many great reviews for places in Florida. My wife and I are moving out there next month, so hopefully our windows will be in good shape. Now we know where to go, should we have to replace them. http://www.gilkey.com

Three brands come to mind, due to Jeldwen (good service if you have a warranty issue). Eagle. And Atruim. Good luck!

I used Champion Windows for a remodel of mine a couple years ago. Pretty awesome stuff.

Funny Trulia spelled Wedgwood wrong - I never noticed that.

Patrick is right below - Franks Lumber on 15th in Shoreline is pretty amazing. I got a beautiful door there and they have some custom beauties - not so sure it is good for windows, but it has been a little while since I have been in there.

You may also want to check with some of the larger building supplies such as BMC. I have had great luck with Lowes, for the best price on custom ordered windows.

Check out Frank Lumber in Shoreline. They're all custom but if you're on a budget they've got tons of inventory in the trailers out back. Definately worth a visit.

I don't know what kind I bought which is probably typical for homeowners. I went to home depot, they talked about the various kinds. They were reasonable and had super financing options which even if you don't need may be nice to have a 6 mo no interest. We had a little install problem and they came right out and fixed it. Also, ordered the wrong type of window for one location and they rebuilt it without charge. We have a 1909 craftsman in Ravenna so the windows are an odd mix. There are so many options, I strongly suggest you pick windows that are specific to the era of your house. It always looks weird to see casement windows on a house built prior to 1970.

Whom ever you choose make sure that they will provide paperwork for the federal tax credit. Go to http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=tax_credits.tx_index to find out about incentives when choosing energy efficient windows and doors. I replaced windows last year on a rental and the installation company provided paperwork that I just simply had to sign and put in th mail. Good Luck!

I use Jim, who works mostly for contractors & so is very reasonable. He has access to a lot of different windows & qualities. Give him a call at 425-508-8187 & mention my name. If he works out for you, please let me know how he does. Good luck.

Just FYI. Windows Doors and More carry many brands of windows, from basic to the highest quality available.

Windows Doors and More in Seattle and Redmond have fantastic service and a beautiful selection to meet any budget. They are not open on Sunday, so plan ahead. There website is http://www.windowshowroom.com

I hope this works for you. If you remember, let me know how they treat you and their service. I refer them to many clients, and have used them for my entire house, so it is important to me that they are treating people fairly and giving the same level of service I give my clients. Good luck with your remodel!
