What is approximate cost to replace and paint chinese drywall in a house of about 2000 sq ft?

Don it could also require ripping out the electrical. There is more to it than sheetrock and paint.

A rule of thumb, considered somewhat accurate is to calculate replacement costs at about $85 per square foot. Hope that helps.

Agreed! The only way to TRULY answer this question is if a contractor comes to the house and estimates the costs for you.

You will need to find a contractor in your area that does Defective Drywall Remediation. Try the Internet. Keep in mind that in addition to the drywall being replaced you ususally also have to have the appliances, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC replaced as well.
