Tradesmen10,

Dawn is dead-on with commenting on the potential for historic preservation considerations. Given your description of the property, it sounds like its location may be situated in the Mission San Jose Historic Overlay District.

Hi Trademaster, My good friend Tony owns a demo company and he told me with permits, fees, and asbestos removal and all it would be approx 20,000 and he said you would need to leave up two walls at a 90 degree angle so you would not have so many fees and permits to rebuild....Also that depends on how old the home is it may be historical and then you have a whole other can of worms.....Fremont city planning dept. is very hard to deal with....... good luck! With all due respect to Ron, I don't think it's an unreasonable question, as many real estate people have development ties and might either be able to get the question or get an answer.

Every area has different costs associated with this, so I would call some local contractors to get an idea as there are probably some permit fees and other potential costs specific to Fremont.
