You can add to the list flood insurance, wetlands issues too.

The wetland issues include beautiful views, gorgeous sunsets, graceful egrets in flight and even an occasional eagle. Walking near the bay early in the morning before work as the sun rises brings the feeling of vacation to you each and every day. Yes indeed I whole heartedly miss those wetland issues.

Some area of Union Beach you do not need flood insurance and is not all wetlands issues. Please do reseach and you will see. TY

As stated there might be summer problems with mosquitos. I grew up in the swamp in north Jersey (Great Swamp Wildelife Preserve) and the good thing is the swamp prevent over development.

Swamps aren't a bad thing, they prevent over development and in most areas of NJ mosquitoes are controlled.

Hi Dee, Bill is spot on- evaluate it's impact on your own safety and enjoyment and then understand that it WILL impact resale - both in value and time to sell.

Dee the short term concern should be unannounced and unwanted guests during the summer months. Your long term concern should be resale potential for the home. When it comes time for you to sell this home, other potential buyers are going to consider the same isses you are presently.

A swamp brings with it the same liabilities as power lines, busy highways, proximity to commercial complex etc.

Good luck
