The area considered South Redondo is closer to the ocean. That is the primary reason there is a difference in rent. Both North and South Redondo are wonderful areas and the schools district is the same. Your drive to the "Base" from North Redondo is about 5 minutes. From South Redondo it is about 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. There is also a square footage issue when considering both areas. You get a lot more room in North Redondo than you will in South Redondo. Age of the complex is also a consideration. South Redondo actually hads an historic district that is very unigue. There are a lot of wonderful choices to consider when moving to beach . I hope this gives you some concret answers to you question. Hi, Marci:

I disagree with Hi's response. Most Realtors will find you whatever kind of property/lease/purchase you are looking for.

Have a great move! And welcome to Los Angeles!

you probably will not get much response in here
realtors want to sell houses for comission
some may get something for renting
but most do not deal with rental market
maybe try apartment.com
or google "rent in LA"

anyways

good luck
