I have lived in Haverford Twp for 25 years. I consider it a great area. The schools are highly rated, and it is very easy to compare on any one of the many websites that rate schools. Contact the Haverford police for crime statistics. Easy access to the city and the blue route. In the process af building a fabulous recreation area on the old Haverford hospital sight...Lots of good things happening here!

We are residents of Havertown and it is considered a great place to raise a family. Our Century21 Alliance office is located in Havertown and has been doing business in the area since the 80's. It is not uncommon for grown children to stay here and raise their families. As a resident I have not seen or heard of much crime but you would have to contact the Haverford Police Department for statistics. You can go to our website at and click on the schools link to get all the information about our school system. I think you will be pleased with the results. The area has a small town feel yet is only 30 minutes from downtown Philadelphia. We have some photos up at for you to see the area. You can contact us with any questions. We would be happy to answer them. The local blog site is… Hope that helps you to get a feel for the residents.

This is a great website to review schools and school districts. You get parent reviews and student-to-teacher ratios. You can search by elementary, middle or high school.

Opinions are subjective--what's good for one may not necessarily be the case for another-- Why not visit the district, speak to the principal, teachers, etc., and make a determination--as for crime/safety/quality of life--your best source of information is the local police department, why not visit as well and ask away, hear all there is to hear firsthand--drive through the neighborhood more than once and at different times of day, look at everything that is of importance to you, them make your own determination--will your comfort level be reached.
