Kim - definitely make sure you don't switch off the air conditioning. Keep it higher than normal, around 79 or 80 degrees, but definitely keep it running. Otherwise you'll have big problems with mold and mildew. Remember there's a LOT of humidity in sunny Florida.

I think it's a good idea to keep your alarm system going even when you're gone. The noise should alert the authorities and hopefully scare off the thieves. Nobody wants to lose their hard-earned possessions. Maybe I should find an alarm system for my home as well. http://www.protectsecurity.com.au/servicesproducts/
