Fitch Mountain river front property is all privately owned. The few places like Camp Rose that may have offered river access in the past are no longer public facilities. The only river access in Healdsburg is at Memorial Beach. Of course, you could always rent or buy a property and have your own beach access. Many of the homes on South Fitch and Redwood Drive have great beach access.

Joe is absolutely correct and the agent Mr. Roberts is wrong to make this claim regarding the "only river access in Healdsburg. According to the 2015 printing of Public Rights on Rivers in Every State and through Federal Lands from the National Organization for Rivers (p. 23): "The U.S. Supreme Court has confirmed that the public easement applies 'regardless of who owns the riverbed' in various sections of a river, and that it includes public rights to engage in 'sports fishing and duck hunting,' to portage around obstructions and waterfalls, and to walk along the banks of rivers, walking above the high water line as needed to continue walking." Public easement to rivers and beaches includes also swimming and sunbathing, or just hanging out enjoying the river from the shore.

The National River Law states that every navigable river in the US is public land up the the median high water mark. The access may be denied from the road to a specific spot, but if you can get to that spot it is completely legal for you to be there, even right in front of the houses. Look it up.
