Schaumburg is basically the commercial center for the Northwest Suburbs. The Woodfield mall draws customers from 15 miles away given its size and shopping selection. Lots of corporate and commercial job opportunities, depending on what you are looking for.

The town has more of a "city" feel vs a "town" feel that many of the other NW suburbs enjoy. If you prefer city, Schaumburg is great. If you want something a little smaller, but the ability to get to all amenities quickly, the towns nearby will appeal to you.

Schaumburg itself is the best Village around as far as having a large employment base, great schoold, fantastic park district, Woodfield and many other shopping centers, a commuter train line, a public airport, a convention center, many restaurants, huge bicycle trail network, many nearby forest preserves, lakes and sanctuaries. There is a lot to do here and also lots to do in the whole Northwest suburbs. I have lived here about 32 years and have been a Realtor here for 28 years. Feel free to call or write back.
