I've never had an objection to the animals which mainly are some deer etc.

Also there is less traffic on Highway 22 after I-78 was opened. However, is wildlife a drawback? Regards,

Mountainside was rated #1 town in Union County by NJ Monthly 2010. Here is the link
http://njmonthly.com/articles/towns_and_schools/best-places-…

Also rated #8 in the state and # 3 best pool in the state.

With its low taxes, serene setting and proximity to NYC it's no surprise.

Is one town better then another because it has a train station and a downtown? Regards,

Frank,

I don't think that we can say that any given town is the "best" in Union County. Each town
has its own unique character and will have features that appeal to certain individuals
and familes. Mountainside, in general has homes with a bit more of a "country" feel,
because of its proximity to the Watchung Reservation. Some people love looking out the
kitchen window and seeing deer in their backyard, while others aren't too pleased about it.
Property taxes are relatively lower than some other towns, but there is no "downtown"
and no train service. I think it's a great choice for some, but there are other towns that may
be a better match for others.
