I'm thinking about relocating from California to Derby KS. Is this a nice, safe place to raise my kids? How are the schools?

Hi, we live in Derby and have stayed here for the schools. We are selling our house, that we built, only because we are almost empty nesters. Our house is in a really nice part of Derby; Tanglewood Elementary, 2014 brand new Derby Middle School North, and the High School is .25 from the front door.

I live in Derby, the town was voted the number one town to raise a family in the United States by Good Housekeeping magazine in 2010. The school system is excellent. Derby borders wichita which makes transportation to work easy. Derby is also going through a business growth boom, which has brought many of the popular chain stores to town. The current atmosphere is a small town with a bright future and good midwestern values. Hope this helps.

I actually went to school in Derby! (HIgh School)...a great school system as I recall....when we moved to TN, it was like moving backward insofar as the school system.
