As you probably already know, Little Forest Hills is an interesting little area. There are so many houses there with character, that many residents have protested the new construction going on in the area. Just a drive through a couple of streets will show you that they want to "Keep Little Forest Hills Funky." So, the good news is you'll have neighbors who have pride in the neighborhood.
As the owner of a newer home in the area, you'll put yourself as the Boardwalk/Park Place property on the block. When it comes to resale, that can effect your value and time on the market. Just as you will bring up your neighbor's home value because your home is more expensive, they will bring down your value because they are less expensive.
In my opinion, that is a good area because the neighborhood right next to you has hew homes selling over $1Million. Also, in December of 2006, a real estate investment trust bought the Casa Linda shopping center and have plans to upgrade the center.
Please let me know if I can be of any more help.
