why does the price say 1000? im confused!

Realty Trac should not be your go-to source for accurate real estate information. If there were a property for $1000 it would have been scarfed up immediately. But then they wouldn't be able to get you in the door without that teaser rate would they? But there was a property in that location, with the same size number of bdrms and baths. It was bank owned and sold in January for $64k. Renovations are being done to it and it is back on the market for $139,900.

If you would like an accurate list of bank owned or short sale properties, I would be happy to send it to you. Please keep those questions coming.

Hi Nikki,

Karen is exactly right--realty trac uploads from the county records whenever a lien is filed against a property--it could be an unpaid bill from a contractor, or a myriad of other things like that. Frequently, the house isn't even on the market and the lien is cleared by the owner paying it off long before it reaches anything near foreclosure. Realty trac uploads anything that is filed under "lis pendens" which means a lien has been filed to collect payment on a bill.

My website has a search button on it that will let you look directly at foreclosures in any given community in any given price range, and these are directly linked from the local real estate listings that all agents access. You can access that information at your leisure or feel free to contact me and I can be sure that you get an alert every time a foreclosed property comes on the market so you will be sure to get an early opportunity to check it out.
