Hi Lisa,

My first question to you is do you have a buyer agent? If not, you should hire one before you do anything. If you are not familiar with buyer agency, feel free to read my blog at It is important to have someone looking out for your best interests and not the seller.

Also, as you can see, many Realtors will ask you to simply pick up the phone and call them and they will be happy to take you to see homes. That is the last thing you should ever do. You should first choose a few who you feel may be a good fit for you and them go meet with them at their office and interview them. Then and only then should you hire one.

Also, you do not have to pay a buyer agent. The buyer agent usually gets paid from the commission fee the seller is offering when they sell their home. Yes, a buyer agent can charge you but that would be asked of you when you meet and it would be up to you to either want to pay them or if you want to hire a buyer agent who gets paid from the commission from the seller.

As for this home, no matter what the price is, it will all depend on what the last 3 similar homes sold for in the past 2-3 months.

Make sure to not buy from the listing agent though because that is dual agency. You can also read about dual agency on my blog as well.
