Why is this house still on the market at such a price?

Asked by John Kates, Southfield, MI Fri Jan 30, 2009

I have been to the property. The neighborhood is nice, the outside of the house looks decent, beside the northern top story window being damaged. I noticed that it has been on the website for over 5 months now. What is the deal? Wet basement? Interior damage? Bio haz material inside?!?! lol.

You really need to have your agent show you the inside to get a feeling for what is going on with the house. The likelihood of one of the agents who answers questions here on Trulia having seen the home inside is fairly low, and it is also not likely there is much on the bank disclosures.

My guess is that it is not perfect, but hopefully no biohazard stuff inside ;-)

Well the best thing you can do as a first step is find a good agent to work with and have him/her make a showing request and look together!

I'm not sure there is any "problem". I'd be happy to show you the inside. I've been told, however, that there are several offers on the home and the bank is still looking for a best and final offer.
