Rosalie,

To ge a rough estimate of what the property taxes would be, you simply multiply the purchase price of the property by the current millage rate, then divide it by 1000. So, if you were to pay \$210, 000 for the property and the current millage rate for Clearwater is 20.3578 (\$210,000 X 20.3578 = 4275138). Then you divide the total sum by 1,000 (4275138 / 1,000 = 4275.138 or \$4,275.14.

However if you were claiming Homestead on the property you would deduct \$25,000 from the sales price and then do you calculations.

\$210,000 - \$25,000 = \$185,000

\$185,000 X 20.3578 = 3766193

3766193 / 1,000 = \$3,766. 19

In summary, the estimated property taxes would be:

\$4,275.14 for non-homesteat
