HI Jeff,
Generally to be able to get an idea of the taxes in a particular township or borough you must take into account how much non-government commercial business is currently present. The more commercial, non-tax-exempt business around, the lower your taxes will be because all that commercial business generates revenue for the municipality that is supplemented by the residential taxpayers. For example Media has a lot of county/government buildings being the county seat so the taxes there would be very high for the area in genreral, BUT they also have a fairly substantial commercial district which offsets the higher taxes moderating it with lower taxes thus resulting in middle of the road/slightly higher than surorunding areas taxes. Hope that helps clear it up for you!

Jeff,

The taxes on this home were $7,185 for the 2008 tax year. Taxes in Lansdowne are competitive with taxes in other parts of eastern Delaware County (i.e. Upper Darby, Collingdale, Yeadon), which, in general, are higher proportionally than taxes in the western parts of the county (i.e. Marple, Newtown, Radnor)
