Usually, once you "close" on your house the new owner takes occupancy. If you want to rent the house from the new owner that may be worth asking them.

The answer to that is in the purchase agreement. If you haven't entered into a purchase agreement yet then that becomes a matter of negotiation. Talk with your Realtor for what options are available in Plano. I am not licensed in Texas and not familiar with the local purchase agreements.
