Hi Tom, do you own this home? If so, I wouldn't worry about what the records show unless you were getting ready to sell. I say this because if you make a stink and ask the County to adjust the sq ft, you may get hit with a tax increase.
On the other hand, if you bought the home with the thinking that is was larger than if was because the seller and their agent marketed it that way, then there could be a potential problem.
I always tell my buyers that the home is whatever sq ft the appraiser appraises the home for. You might go to the City planning dept and check to see if there was a permit for any additional sq ft that was added to the home. Maybe it just wasn't adjusted with the County records.
