The TAXES are listed at nearly $21K dollars - making this house unaffordable. How can I get the taxes lowered?

Unfortunately, Cathi is correct. http://www.cookcountyassessor.com is a website that you can look up the current tax rate for Cook County and even locate your municipality. This should give you an idea of what the taxes would be with a new sales price. If you would like a list of available properties in the area, please let me know. You can reach me at susan@k3metro.com

Hi Tracey,

You can't get them lowered until you purchase the home and then appeal the taxes.
