Well, usually, when you close on an association maintained community, there is an upfront amount paid when you close to the association and then you are charged monthly for that month. So, for example, if you pay on the 10th or something of March, you're paying for March.
BUT, every association is set up individually. I would consult your association management company to ask how it works with YOUR association. I'm certain that information is in your bylaws.
