Should I go with VRBO or use a rental agency on a vacation home I purchased? Does it matter if your're managing from a distance?

Any recommendations on reputable agencies?

We own several vacation rentals. What has worked for us is having the condos listed on VRBO and using a local management company. Most of the rental companies will discount their management fees when you book the property yourself. This way they are responsible for collecting the money and taking care of the cleaning.

Three years ago we started to book our units through VRBO and we were able to double or triple our rental income that we received by just using the rental agency. Make sure you use 12 pictures instead of the 5 picture option.

Hi Investor,

Use the agent and pass on ony leads from VRBO to you agent. The MLS is far more powerful than VRBO which NOT a lot of people are aware of. People are more likely to believe and agent than teh owner directly.

The agent can also hold the price line better and process any applicants saving you the hassle even if the tenant pays for the service.

An investment should be passive income, which means you dont need to do anything to make money. So let the agent do it.

Good Luck
