Brandy,

This is not good......one of the primary concerns for buyer today is the safety and security of a neighborhood or community. Future buyers will also be asking the same question you are now: "What will that do the the property value?"

Brandy,
Again it depends on the type of jail. Lights will not be a problem two blocks away. There are several Jails in Huntsville Texas in fact one right in the center of Town, these are what you might call pens. There are some that will not affect your property values, in fact there will be more call for the homes in your neighborhood.
But if it is a city or county jail where the drunks, , pick pockets, drug users and so on are picked up and then let out until trial, you do not want to be near there.

Ouch... that's not very good. Usually bail bonds places follow and then pawn shops etc... etc...

It might increase it depending on where you are, the size, the location, and the number of employees. Maybe there will be high demand from employees. Could be the other way around too. Maybe your home will decrease if there is lots of riff raff around or lights shining over the wall in your backyard.
