I took at the link you provided.

The building consists of four units, and each is a one-bedroom/one bath unit listed at $298,000. And the entire building is for sale at $898,800.

The same link will lead you to the realtor's site at http://www.temescalcondos.com/

I showed this four-plex when it was a rental unit and before they did the renovations. They did a good job with refinishing the hardwood floors, But I don't see a major improvement in the bath or kitchen, other than it's clean.

At that price, you may be able to find some foreclosed detached single family homes in other parts of Oakland. For example, check out 5857 Roberts in Oakland, next to Mills College, for $289K.

2 bedrooms, 1 bath, 1155 sq ft of living space on a 3268 sq ft lot. Hardwood floors. Fireplace. Garage. Many of the neighbors are long-time residents. I know. I sold a short sale listing on the same street last year, and it was not in as good a condition as this one.

If you need more information about this and other possibilities, let me know. Contact me via Trulia, or my website.

Good luck to you.

Hi Nishant,
I contacted the agent and was told that both possibilities are out there ... buying entire building or individual condos. Hope that helps.
