No REO implies that the bank already owns it. REO - Real Estate Owned. Sometimes they get it because no one bid at the auction, sometimes the get a deed in lieu of foreclosure. Buying post auction removes a significant amount of risk, and removes some of the financial hurdles (they only take cashiers checks at the court house steps). Most auctions in King County are Friday morning...worth a look if this is anything you are remotely interested in. Numerous locations...but KC Courthouse steps around 9am you're likely to see a good turnout.
