The most reliable source for tax on a home is reviewing the tax code with the Township Assessor on each home that you desire to make an offer on and purchase. The recent economic cycle has thrown any rule of thumb for tax due out the window. Most Assessors' will base tax due using the last five years average tax amount regardless of sale price. Always Always Always check in with the Assessor. Remember the tax code will change as community needs change!

No. This is normal sale. The tax is less than 10K

It sold for 670,000 as a foreclosure awhile ago. Taxes almost 31,000.

It is a goregous home in an area where most homes are 220-300,000.

They tore down the original home and built this stately home. It was totally overbuilt for the area and when the real estate changed they could not sell it for years.

The taxes will keep the value of this home down and the only home like it the neighborhood does a lot to the value.
