Hi William, The actual property in an area of San Diego called Carmel Valley which is adjacent to Del Mar and you will not find a rental for $900/mo in Carmel Valley. This is a great community with San Diego's top rated schools. This particular property was for rent in December and it rented for $4,600.00 per month. It is a big house, almost 3,400 square feet.

There are a lot of scammers on Trulia, and they make up their own posts here on Trulia with unrealistic numbers and are asking people to send them money. Never send or give money to people without seeing the property first and signing an agreement or an application to rent, and meeting the owner or their agent in person.

Best of luck to you.

Hi William,

When looking for rentals, your best bet is Craigslist. 85% to 95% of all rentals leased in San Diego County are fulfilled using Craigslist. It is used by owners, property management companies and agents alike.

The best way to search is to put the zip code in the search box and then enter the rest of your parameters. Check often and call/e-mail right away as many rentals move quickly!

Lastly, beware of rental scam listings and ads that "look too good to be true”. Make sure you talk to the person managing the property and meet them to see it. Scams usually involve people asking for a deposit prior to seeing the property or filling out a rental application.

Best of luck to you,

If its too good to be true most likely its not! That property would rent closer to $3300 a month. Have had people take my listings and state they are the owners and are renting them out. They go on to state if you like the property from the outside to mail them a deposit and they will mail you a rental appliciation. Phoney, never mail anyone money. Sugest that you talk to a professional property management company.
