Christopher Thomas is correct that the property is active in the MLS.

He's also correct that you shouldn't automatically rule out someone who responded here. The high likelihood, however, is that the response is inappropriate.

Thomas' response (and I realize I'm a bit unfair on this) suggests that tech savvy is an advantage to a buyer. Perhaps it is, but not at the expense of an in-depth knowledge of the area and type of property. I'd rather have an agent who doesn't have a cell phone than one who doesn't have deep familiarity with and experience in the area I'm interested in.

I haven't seen any of the agents who've responded here suggest that they know the first thing about this location. That should be of concern to a buyer.

Dear Kimberly,

This property does appear as an active (and available for sale) listing on the Multiple Listing Service. If you do not yet have a real estate agent, you should know that generally speaking (with some possible exceptions) the agent who walks in with you to see this property for the first time will "by default" become you real estate agent (unless you have a written agreement with a different agent who you have already designated as your real estate agent).

I would suggest speaking with multiple agents before you make a choice on who you'd like to work with, but I would not rule out people who have responded to your request here. These agents tend to be pretty technologically up to date (compared to the vast majority of realtors), and as a result they can often respond to requests more quickly.

You might want to call any of the agents who have responded to you here and interview them before scheduling a showing to see this property. But their responding to you here should not eliminate them from consideration.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you need additional assistance. Good luck.

This property does not appear to be active on the MLS.

Here are some general tips for buyers.

1. If a property on Trulia doesn't disclose clearly who is selling it, move on to the next property.

2. Never respond to an online solicitation from an agent volunteering to show you the property. Select your real estate agent carefully, not as the result of this sort of solicitation.

I would be happy to leave my office and take you over there anytime you like. It's vacant so I can literally make an appointment and meet you within a half hour or any other time that is convenient for you.

It is active and on the market.

You can schedule a showing with a Realtor at any time.
