Hello Mr. Dillard:

My name is Toskanelia Palmer. I'm a Managing Broker and I work for an organization named Housing Opportunities Unlimited. There's a new program this is funded by the Chicago Housing Authority. Not very many people have heard of it. In a nutshell, through this program, CHA will pay "MARKET RENT" for "Opportunity Areas". Your current 1 bedroom Voucher has a face value of $980.00 which does not cover the requested rent of $1,383.00 for the unit that you are inquiring about.

If you're interested in living in Rogers Park and you want assistance with obtaining "higher rents" through the "Mobility Program", I can assist you. Below is a current list of units that weve assisted Mobility participants with renting.

In addition to assisting you with a move through our program, we will also pay $500.00 toward your security deposit or give you $500.00 to use for furniture. Even though you have a voucher, you should still be prepared to pay for any credit/background fees associated with any unit that you apply for.

The only requirement to get into the program is to come to an orientation with your valid voucher in hand. The orientation is 45 minutes. Nothing else needed to qualify. Everyone with a valid Section 8 Voucher can participate.

I am very familiar with the section 8 program - we have several vacancies throughout Woodlawn, Grand Crossing and South Shore. Please let me know if you would like to hear more about the units for rent.

The Mobility Program is slightly different from the regular Housing Choice Voucher Program in which you speak. You've listed all of the neighborhoods (Woodlawn, Grand Crossing and South Shore) that are "NOT" included in the Mobility Program. Mr. Dillard is participating in a special program that DOES NOT include "Woodlawn, Grand Crossing and South Shore".

He also posted a unit on the North Side of Chicago. Do you have any North Side units that you could assist him with?

The Mobility Counseling Program promotes giving tenants the right to choose where they would like to live instead of steering them to other neighborhoods.

Hope this helps.

If you'd like to know more about Mobility Counseling, please feel free to contact me. This is not the regular Section 8 Program.

Do you have any North side appointments for Mr. Dillard? His post was on the North Side. You immediately directed him to "Woodlawn, Grand Crossing and South Shore".
