How do I find out about an abandoned property in Tigard?

Asked by Tigardrn, 97223 Sun Jan 11, 2009

This is weird....
Since we moved in 6 Months ago I have seen maybe 4 visits to this house and wonder what is up with it??
I have seen 2 visits to the house by a contractors truck.
1 by a realtor? in a red blazer peeping though the windows ( maybe to see what was going on?)
1 by another unmarked truck.
The house is in poor condtion. Gutters falling down. The last storm blew a small tree down in the yard. No one has cared for the yard since we have been at this location. It looks like a long time ago it had a for sale sign up, the holder is in the yard but no sign. Last transaction found on the house was in 1993?
What website do I look at for the details on this house?

You can start with the city assessors office, check the tax card, most places you can do it online and see who the owner is. If there are problems or saftey issues do not hesitate to call the building inspectrors office, they will find the owner fast and get some results. good luck with your search for info.

Hello Tigardrn,
I would love to be able to assist, (see how much you need a Realtor already?) :) However, if you truly don't want a real estate professional representing you in this acquisition you may want contact a title company. They may help you find the details on this or you can contact the county assessors office and they will have tax data and owner's name. You'll just need to let them know the address. I hope you find this helpful. If you get to frustrated researching please feel free to contact me for help. Best of 2009 to you!

If you email the address to I will get you a full report on who the owner is and if it is in foreclosure.

The red truck and window peeping sounds like a company that was hired to secure the home for a lender or it could be going to the courthouse for an auction and this could have been an aggressive bidder wanting more info and a look before they bid it up.

I have a system that allows me to look up all foreclosures and addresses for any pending actions whatsoever.

Call me or email and let's get to the bottom of this!

There are many possibilities, but in the current market it could be a home in foreclosure or maybe even in an estate. What is the address?, zillow, trulia & county sites are good places to find public information about properties as well.
