Hi How can I find out if the property was foreclosed?

Asked by Renata, Long Beach, CA Mon Jan 5, 2009

Where can I find the address of the property and current status? Description showing that the public sale was scheduled on Nov 13th,2008. Today is Jan5th, 2008 and I would like to know if the property was sold or no, is it currently listed for sale?

Thank you

The unfortanate thing is once a notice is published, it is not updated or deleted. Realty trac picks up foreclosure notices from the local registries and publishes them on their site, trulia picks up the realty trac feed and that is what you see. It could have been auctioned and the deed not filed yet or the owner could have paid up or made an agreement to stop the auction. I have posted a link for a free 7 day trial to realty trac on my website if you want to check their site direct. Good luck with your search.

If the complete address is showing, then I should be able to pull it from foreclosure radar. If you can give me the complete address, I will help you find out.

I checked my foreclosure service and do not see that this property went to auction. I then checked tax records and do not see any bank owned properties in this area of Orange Ave (however tax records can be up to 60 days behind in posting, though usually not in LA County).

It would appear that the owner stopped the foreclosure before the auction date. The trouble with RealtyTrac is that once they post a property status fromt he public records they don't seem to update it.

This is an advertisement by RealtyTrac.com. The goal for them is to get you to subscribe to their services.

To search the active inventory of foreclosures, you can go to my website and click on "Foreclosures".

Let me know if you have any questions.
