Your credit score does not matter unless you need credit...
or the best prices on home insurance
or the best prices on auto insurance
or the best rates from your cell phone provider
or need to pay bills online
or rent.

Just about anything you want to do that requests your name or address or SS# is trolling for your credit score or some means to access your credit score.

For 99% of citizens, their credit score does matter whether they know it or not.

You must have a credit score of at least 600 or no score at all. If you don't have a score then you need to be able to prove that tou have paid at least three bills on time every month for the last year with one of the bills rent. Proof has to bee in the form of cancelled checks or copies of money orders. No verifications from an individual or family member. Never pay any bill in cash, as cash is NOT proof.
Remember, PROOF and 12 months of it!!

A borrower's credit score is one of the MOST important things in a mortgage approval. All mortgage programs have minimum credit score requirements. If the minimum credit score is not there, then there is no mortgage approval.

A credit score also plays a part in auto loans, insurance premiums, etc. You should always pay your bill on time each month and never let a bill go into collections.
