Thanks for the reply Don. We have lived in the home for 5 years and our situation is changing so we want to rent it out to a family member vs. selling it. It was never our intention to rent it when we first bought it.

Hello Megan,

You cannot buy a house via USDA financing with the intention of using it as an investment property but if you have a home loan that is USDA and have lived in the property for a length of time after you purchased I would not think you would have any problems.
