Can a landlord come onto the property without notice?

Asked by Oneofakind, Fallbrook, CA Wed May 6, 2009

I rent a home with some land around it. It has fruit trees, flowers, a garden..ect.. My landlord comes and uses the garden, picks flowers, waters plants, and does yard work with absolutely no notice at all. I maintain all of the work that is needed outside, but they insist on doing it themselves. Today I walked outside thinking I was alone and there they were..using the garden! Can they come without giving me any notice? I realize that they still love this home, but they are renting it for a reason and I want privacy! Can they do this?
