Adrienne Varkiani answered:
Hey Tamara,

Google Maps says it's a little under 3 miles and the drive will take about 7 minutes. I live near Bullis, and I would say that it shouldn't take more than 15 mins in the morning or afternoon (taking into consideration the school traffic).

Hope that helps, and feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions about the area or its schools! I grew up in a couple different places in Montgomery County (and love it) and I would love to help you learn more about the area.

All the best,

I have found that IFAS has the most unique variety of afterschool activities. It is run off of Montrose and Seven locks rd. At first I was hesitant because some of the employees were Moslem and it is a part of the Islamic Education Center but to my delight - I will say that I have never seen a more positive atmosphere. The afterschool program is non-religious and focuses on sports and tutoring and other classes. I have already been to 3 different programs and if my kids are happy and energized and their homework is done then I will give kudos to them and stick with that program! ... more

Daniel, As our daughter transitioning from private to public school in Montgomery county, we have been searching and comparing the schools. We compared the number students per class, teachers, parents review about the principals and more. All schools in Montgomery are great schools, however, some zip codes are score higher than others due to the Math, and Reading scores. If you would like to learn more about Montgomery schools, please visit

In addition, I would be glad to share our experience, and send you school snapshots in pdf version.
