Greg,
Foreclosures posted here are not for sale, at least in most cases. RealtyTrac sells subscriptions to their data, not homes. Most homes in Foreclosure won't appear for sale anytime soon. Some will get worked out, others may get listed as a short sale and some will eventually complete the foreclosure process and either be sold at auction or be listed by the bank and placed for sale. ... more

Your best bet is to contact a local Realtor who has access to your local MLS. There is no such thing as a special "list" of foreclosure properties. Every foreclosure will appear in the MLS. Don't fall prey to sites like RealtyTrac who just want you to pay them $$ for their "list" of foreclosures.

Also...Foreclosures aren't always your best option. You really need to talk to a Realtor who can show you everything on the market in your price range. Most foreclosures will sell for "fair market value" (what other similar homes have been selling for). There are plenty of great deals out there for homes that are regular sales and don't have the problems that foreclosures have.

Seizing someones assets, which checking and savings accounts are, requires a legal proceeding that would need to go through the court, therefore you will know when and if they are going to go after your assets when the Sharif comes to deliver the court documents.

Lisa, short of contacting an attorney, read the Fair credit and debt collection act. If they threatened to freeze your account, or call your employer, or any other threats, you need to call an attorney. They can't do it or even say it.

There are attorneys that handle this type of case on a contingency basis, meaning that they get paid when you do, and they will sue the bank and get you paid. I have a number of an attorney in Tampa that does this type of work if you need it.

I hope this helps.
