When purchasing a home, it is a good idea to use a Realtor. If you hire a Realtor, he/she will work in your best interest. This is especially important when it comes time to negotiating.
The Multiple Listing Service aka MLS has a field that is required for taxes and other pertinent information about the home. Not all sites pull ALL of the information that is listed.
I have seen homes that are listed for sale on other sites, when in fact, the home is not for sale. You have to be careful of scams as well.

Best of luck to you.

Jana,

It will be enough only if the cat does not need its own bedroom. (sorry...just couldn't resist).

Is there enough room in the apartment to set up a play area (toys, etc.) for the baby? Baby will not stay 1 year old forever and I don't know how long you are looking to stay in the apartment. Think about next year and the year after.

I agree with Don, there unfortunately isn't a way to speed up the bank, assuming of course that the short-sale negotiator in the situation is keeping in constant contact with the bank.

Good luck with your purchase and the new baby!
