It depends what type of neighborhood your are looking for. There are deed restricted communities, gated communities, non-deed restricted areas. Smaller homes, larger homes, mobile homes, condos, villas, townhouses. So the neighborhoods vary quite a bit. If you are looking for crime statistics, you can go to the Charlotte County Sheriffs web page at: http://www.ccso.org/PublicInterest/crimestats.cfm

You didn't say how many bedrooms and baths you'll be needing. The majority of home in Charlotte county under $100,000 are 2 bedroom, there are some homes that have 3 bedrooms. But you really don't get much of a home in that price range anymore and the odds are the home will need substantial amounts of work. ... more

Some areas of South Gulf Cove have no bridge, it just depends where the property is located. For bridges in South Gulf Cove you would want to be able to clear 10' most of the year. In the Summer when the canals are higher from all the rain it could be as little at 9-3/4'. The lock length and width is 80' x 20'. ... more

Hi Deb,
The home at 4670 Herman Circle is a bank foreclosure and is being sold on auction.com. It requires a 5% buyers premium. The home is in a flood zone and with the age of the home the homeowner insurance will be high. The home is located in a decent area of Port Charlotte, but for crime and safety your best resource is the Charlotte County Sheriffs Department. Here is a link to their web site where you can look at the crime reports and the crime map. http://ccso.org/PublicInterest/crimestats.cfm If I can answer any other questions or help in any way, please let me know. You can search for additional properties of interest on my web site.

Terry,

These communities are so close that you'll likely see no negligible difference in this and most other features. With this said, consulting with the local police or sheriff's department should provide you with the detailed information you require.

You are targeting one of the best locations in Florida for value and quality of life for residents. I'd be happy to provide you with information as required.

Best regards,

Bill Eckler

It is great to hear that you just got a new job at Fawcett in Venice. Yes, Venice has many wonderful places for rent as well as to build or buy, however, it is a 30 to 45 minute commute to Fawcett from that location depending on the traffice. It is a personal choice on which ever location you should choose. Personally, I would chose an area closer to work. Some of the areas that I would consider first would be, Port Charlotte of course, Deep Creek, Punta Gorda, North Port, Bobcat Trail and others in an area closer to work especally with the price of gas now. But as I said to start with this is a highly personal choice and these are only my ideas. I will be more than happy to help you get settled in any area that you would lile, just contact me.

Sincerely,
Billy Ray Easley REALTOR
