That isn't really a do it yourself kind of project. There are companies out there that will do it for you for anywhere from $35 to $200. Google "title search" and they are easy to find. Better yet get a referral from a Title Company. ... more

JP,

Pompano Beach is rapidly becoming the place to be as its close 'enough' to everything yet far enough away to be safe and quiet. I am born and raised down here and would not have it any other way just as my parents have resided in Pompano for over 40 years.

As with most cities there are better and worse areas within the city, but east of US1 is a great bet. I have lived in Miami, Boca, Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, and Pompano along with Tampa bay and St Pete on the west coast and Pompano is that nice in-between. If you want a nice night out you are a short drive to Atlantic Avenue in Delray, or Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, or even South Beach yet you have a short drive to the store, to the beach and plenty of sports and activities for your children to engage in.

There is a small city 'within' Pompano of sort, Lighthouse Point and they offer a great amount of clubs, camps, and sports programs which your kids can participate in just as I did for a small fee for living outside of the city. You may also want to look at homes within Lighthouse point as its an extremely safe and quiet area with their own fire department and police force. Pompano also has a great aquatic center and tennis courts which offer great activities for kids, overall you seem like you know what you are looking for and already did some research but wanted to be reassured of your decision, and you can rest assured you are looking in the right area.

If there is anything I may be able to help you with or any specific programs for your kids you want more information on please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks and have a great rest of your day!

Generally it is better east of Federal Highway/US1 than west. It is best east of the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), about one block to the ocean.

Stephan,

Crime is always a serious issue. In real estate a good home security is always a smart choice.
If you are purchasing a condo which offers 24 Hr security is indeed a choice of value. Or finding residence in a gated community is never a bad choice. The cost fort the peace of mind is an added small expense buyer's are glad to pay for.
Awareness is half of the solution. Community Watch is protecting many communities with little or no cost to many developments. Electronic security through video cameras are popping up everywhere and most cities monitor traffic and shopping districts. Pompano like most communities in Florida are relatively safe and the crime rate is bellow national average.
Our Police Force in Broward County provide excellent and courteous service and co-operate with private citizens regularly in awareness programs. For more detailed information you may contact their local stations and speak to them directly. For statistics that are published contact Pompano City Hall they will be glad to provide it for you.
Thank you For your Question:
Wish you a safe visit to Pompano Beach and hopefully choosing this beautiful city as your home and my next door neighbor.

Yes an alarm clock. It scares me every morning. Imagine how well it will work with a stranger trying to break in.
If all fails a small machine gun will do the trick.
Lately i given up going high tech. Can afford the monthly cost of wireless security.
I now profess to be poor and scared. If all fails the best security is investing in a condo. Let the security guard keep you safe. Now on second thought that is real scary.
It boils down to who do you trust a wireless home alarm or your condo security guard?

Mark,
The simple answer. Much to high. With our economy heavily relying on the tourist trade it will increase within the few months as we go off season.
The outlook for optimism is still there. As a state we have the good fortune to take the lead in a number of fronts.
Energy plants. Solar, thermal , nuclear.
Developers have an opportunity to invest in building and rebuilding obsolete homes that can meet and stand up to hurricane force winds. Introducing available products like solar tiles, thermal windows, generators, state of the art water purification systems. The demand is there. There is no better opportunity than now. Florida being one of the highest states hit with foreclosures is ripe and affordable for investors that see the potential.
Mark , this is the time for brave action. Florida is the future that can heal itself and provide plenty of job securities on all fronts if it is recognized for more than its tourist values.

Loving your pet just might be the answer. It has been documented in medical research how a pet can be a positive on your well being. Many elderly people find that the companionship of a pet is vital. I have experienced the difficulties of finding a place for my mom when my dad passed away.. Selling her home was difficult enough in this market. Finding a place that would accept her dog was even more of a challenge. I salute all the buildings that welcome pets. Their decision to embrace this need in their rules and regulations singles them out. I know because I paid a premium price to place my mom in one of these buildings. The sales and turn over of pet friendly buildings is active and is doing just fine. The demand is there and the values indicate it.
I know that there are ways of breaking the barrier. A note from the doctor works for some. It however isolates a pet owner from the rest of the neighbors and make them feel outcasts.
Just an added note. Treat your pet with kindness but observe the rights of others. More buildings would accept pets if this was true. Take it from me my mom lives in a pet friendly building the co-operation is just wonderful.
