It is a city, so as long as you are smart and not stumbling home alone at 1 am you should be fine. The neighborhood isn't the best, but it isn't the worst either, but I would definitely say it is on the rise. The place you are looking at is only a couple blocks from the police station and you are about a block from Madira Bar which was voted top 10 new bars in Philly last year. You are also only a couple blocks from the American Sardine Bar. I don't currently live in Point Breeze, however I am in the process of buying a house on that block. Everyone I have spoke with says that as long as you are smart you are fine. ... more

Seshanna,

I think that it's more than the neighborhood that plays into being safe. Working with women over the years I have found that their attitudes really come into play when it comes to their feeling safe. As a case in point, working with my grand daughter to find a home was made easier because she was willing to look in changing neighborhoods where a big part of her feeling safe came from having some street smarts and/or just making common sense every day decisions.

That being said, there are neighborhoods that are safer than others and I would be more than happy to assist you in finding a new home. I look forward to hearing from you.

10-15 minutes by bike. Comcast HQ is on Market St which is exactly Center (NS). So depending on what block you live in Newbold you are probably 15-20 blocks from Comcast HQ.

Snyder is the 2000-2100 South block of any N-S street (All numbered Streets and N-S sidestreets)
Tasker is the 1500-1600 South block of any N-S street (All numbered Streets and N-S sidestreets)

Please feel free to call me if you would like some help finding a new place to rent. We manage over 700+ properties in the City. I'm sure we can find you something you and your team will like.

Have a great weekend.

Roscoe,

I saw this go on the market last week, congratulations on the listings. I'm glad you see that maybe the asking price needs adjustment. I'd counsel a client to offer at $25-35K per lot. I think that the Point Breeze Avenue corridor still has a long way to come before it will be considered a desireable location to purchase new residential construction, particularly since that is primarily a commercial area. Not only do I work in this area, but I also live there. Best of luck!
