I don't think that would be much of a problem. The best way to find out would be to talk to a siding company. They would know what kind of things could damage their work. I think it's interesting that wood siding is so popular there. I have been trying to decide what type of siding to use on my new house. I'll have to do some research on wood siding.

Although taxes are a consideration for buying property, the main consideration should be why do you want to live there. If being close to amenities such as skiing or lakes then an area such as Carbon county, Lake Harmony has both these amenities with Jack Frost and Big Boulder ski area as well as boating/fishing/swimming at Lake Harmony or Big Boulder lake. Monroe County is still close by to skiing, 15-20 minutes and there are communities such as Arrowhead and Locust Lakes. Jim Thorpe has somewhat lower taxes but a longer drive. Your taxes may be able to be able to be lowered than what is assessed due to the current market prices of homes. Bring your appraisal or comparative market analysis to your tax office once you have an appointment and they can re-assess your property to reflect current values. Your real estate expert should be able to help you with this! This also applies to everyone who wants to refinance their current mortgage.

Use of one of the portals like the one you are on (Trulia) is the smartest way to market properties if you are an agent. The three top ones are Trulia, Zillow and Homes .com. Realtor .com a distant 4th.

They are worth the money invested.

1. Surrender the house as part of your chapter 13 bankruptcy;
2. Do a short sale; or
3. Continue to live there and make the payments.
Perhaps a family member with better credit will co-sign on a rental for you? I know a lot of landlords, with a higher deposit, will rent to you under the circumstances you outlined.

In my opinion, you are in Chapter 13 to get a fresh start so why keep the house anchored around your neck?

The architecture on this route is similar. The only con is that route 423 is a major road. There will certainly be through traffic. This is something to consider especially if you have children. My partner lives on this road and says it never bothers her until she comes to my house to visit and realizes how much more quiet it can be on other streets. It also seems to have a longer turn around time when it comes time to sell because many buyers don't want to be on a main road. However, this would be perfect if you trying to get a great deal as there are many located on these roads at great prices right now. Let me know if you have any other questions. 570-242-9681.

Banks will no longer approve of sales where the loan amount is higher than the appraised value of the home. If you were to offer $100K for that home that the bank appraised for, you would need to come up with the balance plus whatever percentage the bank allows for loans. ie If they say they will approve up to 90% of a homes appraised value to lend, then you would need to have $28K as the down payment. $20K for the amount above the appraised value and $8K (10% of the appraised value).

As for the percentage of the homes in Pocono area not closing because of the banks appraisal, I wouldn't know that one. Even if you asked for my area, I would know. When homes are put back on the market, the listing agent usually does not explain why the sale fell apart. Also, getting the "national average" would be like asking about the national average temperature. It greatly varies for one area to another.
